| The packing is mass and heat transfer equipment component.It has been widelyapplied to chemical and oil refining production. In recent years, some novel packingaccordingly transform in the structure on the basis of the traditional. It has highermass-transfer efficiency, lower pressure drop, and wider application. This needs thehigher accuracy of new packing design.At present, the hydrodynamic parameters and load performance diagram of thenew random packing have rarely been studied.And the design and rating software ofnew random packed tower is lacked. Therefore, development for the design and ratingsoftware of new random packed tower has important theoretical and practicalsignificance. The laboratory research group had been engaged in researchinghydrodynamic parameters and load-performance diagram of the structured packingsand random packings for many years, which has made a series of research andprepared the large multi-functional engineering calculation software. This paper is partof the research work which is indispensable content.The design was main attention to develop technological calculation methodssuitable for four new random packed towers, researched denotative methods forhydromechanics restrictive conditions of load-performance diagram of four randompacked towers, and plotted load-performance diagram and feasible and stable range ofrandom packed towers similar to plate towers in form. This design collected andselected hydrodynamics calculation models of four new random packed towers. Someassociated figures were regressed with the least squares method and new correlatedmodels were brought forward. On the basis of comparing and selecting these models,the paper put forward design-optimizing models and methods for four random packed towers, and using Microsoft Visual Basic6.0to develop the design and rating softwareof four new random packing for Super Mini Ring, Hy-Pac Ring, Super Intalox Saddlesand Mellaring. The software built a database for four random packings, using thissofuware, the load-performance diagram and pressure drop associated figures wereautomatically plotted and output.In this paper, taking the QH-2Super Mini Ring and Super Intalox Saddles forexample, the development process of the design and rating software of four newrandom packed towers was introduced, which the two instances were calculated as thesoftware’s examination and evaluation. The results show that the software’s calculationvalues are consistent with literature values. The minimum and maximum relativeerrors are0.15%and19.9%, respectively. The software is reasonable and the modelsare reliable. It can be used as assessment to design program and provide good initialvalues for rigorous simulation. Load-performance diagram has quantitative, visual andintuitionistic expression for appropriate range of packing operation.So it is a good toolto solve old towers rebuilding, enlarge throughput, study and apply all kinds of internalstructural parts.The development of this software will be valuable for research andapplication of new random packings. |
