Fiber grating and sensor thereof are hot topics in the decade years, and today fiber gratings sensor is applied widely to the field of communication, architecture, military, healthcare, chemical industry, and so on.In chapter I of the present dissertation, the applications of the fiber gratings in different fields are summarized, and the patent analysis on the fiber gratings and sensor thereof are proceed; in chapter II, the mode-coupling theory and the analytical solution of the fiber gratings are introduced, the fabricating technology of the fiber gratings and adopization technology thereof are summarized and introduced, the method for fabricating fiber gratings is emphasis, and the uniform fiber Bragg gratings and chirped fiber Bragg gratings are fabricated and measured; in chapter III, the theory of the fiber gratings sensor is introduced, and the demodulation of the fiber gratings sensor is summarized.In chapter IV of the present dissertation, the parameters which affect the demodulation precision are analyzed; a sensor solution based on chirped fiber Bragg gratings with triangular transmission spectrum which is demodulated both in phase and intensity is proposed, and said solution is also simulated and analyzed theoretically; a demodulation solution of a long period fiber gratings sensor which is based on phase and intensity demodulation is proposed.Comparing the solutions proposed by the present dissertation with the prior solution, the solutions proposed by the present dissertation have higher sensor precise and can avoid the mistake of the phase judgment during the demodulating, and have higher industrial applicability.The present dissertation achieves the following:1.The patent analysis on the field of the fiber gratings and sensor thereof is proceeded;2.Uniform and chirped fiber gratings have been fabricated;3.A sensor solution based on chirped fiber Bragg gratings with triangular transmission spectrum which is demodulated both in phase and intensity is proposed, and said solution is analyzed in simulation. By the analysis, the solution reserves the prior solution's advantage of avoid the mistake of the phase judgment, and has higher sensor precision.4.A sensor solution based on the demodulation of the phase and intensity and used the transmission spectrum of the long period fiber gratings is proposed, and said solution has higher industrial applicability.
