CDMA2000 is one of the most important standards of the third generation mobile communication system, which can provide unified system that being used in the whole world, and support such services as grouping package data and media transactions. VLR is an important functional unit in CDMA2000 mobile communication core network system. It is used for the data storage of the users who are roamed under the domination of MSC and support the visiting interface of the data for other service subsystem. With the continuous increase of subscribers' number, an abundance of services and a variety of disaster recovery solutions being proposed, higher requirements on VLR capacity and real-time quality are put forward for communication system. Some research on management of users' data in VLR system is done in the thesis.Firstly, the network structure and function of CDMA2000 system are introduced in this paper, and then the status and role of VLR in the system are described. By the research on distributed storage principle, the design of VLR distributed management system is proposed. In allusion to the problem existing in the current network, the paper analyzes the shortcomings of the distributed management system, and proposes the user movement strategy, achieves the adjustment method of the distributed parameter and periodic broadcasting optimization solutions. In order to improve the system's real-time quality, object-oriented design of VLR memory database is adopted. By way of comparison and analysis of the index, hash function construction methods based on the hash indexes and the handling of the conflict are designed, and then concrete realization of the basic operation of the program is given. Finally the user data backup mechanism has been detailed designed, and three kinds of recovery solutions to typical errors are discussed based on the analysis of problems existing in the VLR database.
