CCD is widely used in many fields for its high-sensitivity. It is of great significance to study the laser-induced-effect of CCD for its vulnerability when exposed under high power sources. In this paper, disturbing effects of CCD under broadband source and 532nm CW-laser irradiation are analyzed by experimental methodology. Relevant threshold data are obtained. With result data of the experiments, the regularity between the number of saturated pixels and power density is validated by numerical fitting methods. The main work of this paper is as follows:1. Experiments of supercontinuum source irradiation on visible light array CCD are designed and carried out. The saturation threshold of pixel, crosstalk and full screen are acquired in the experiment. Both the experimental and theoretical results show that pixel saturation, crosstalk, supersaturation and temporary blindness occur respectively when the power densities in the pupil-entrance are 1.3×10-10W/cm2, 2.4×10-4W/cm2, 6.9×10-3W/cm2 and 1.2×10-2W/cm2.2. Based on the experimental results of solar-ray irradiation on visible light array CCD, the range of the thresholds of crosstalk and temporary blindness under solar-ray can be acquired by numerical calculation.3. By the experiments of the 532nm CW-laser irradiation on visible light array CCD, the images of facular-saturation, crosstalk and supersaturation are acquired when the power densities in pupil-entrance are 3.4×10-11W/cm2, 2.2×10-5W/cm2 and 1.3×10-3W/cm2. Exposing the visible light array CCD under the 532nm CW-laser continuum and supercontinuum sources with the same size of facular, the saturation thresholds of the photosensitive surface and single picture element can be acquired for comparing. The influence of CCD caused by the angle between the CW laser and the camera is also researched. It shows that the disturbing effect will be severer when the angle changed than that of quasi-parallel entrance.4. The rule of the number of saturation pixels and power density is educed in the paper. By processing experiments results with numerical fitting methods, the existing empirical formula about this rule is validated.
