The interaction of solid-state laser with material is always a hot research field. For the absence of light source of millisecond magnitude in this field, a laser with pulse width of 0.8 ms and output energy of 20 to 100J is developed.Base on the rate equation the theoretical model of four level Nd glass laser is established and the static output energy is deduced, as well as the output pulse width. Base on the theory above, the design of Nd glass laser is developed, such as pulse Xe light, condensing cavity, resonator and integration of the laser.The corresponding knowledge is introduced in this thesis and Nd glass laser is designed. Much attention is payed to the uniformity of pump beam in different condensing cavities. The output energy and pulse width are tested with different output mirror transmission.
