Monitoring and evaluation of control performance in industrial process now is attracting more and more interest.Based on the benchmark of minimum variance proposed by Harris, the method of performance assessment of current control system is studied in this paper.According to time series analysis, time series model is fitted to the routine operation data. From this model the feedback-invariant form of control system is extracted, which is used for estimating minimum variance.Against the estimator of minimum variance, performance assessment of univariate control system, cascade control system and multivariate control system is researched.Combining simulation with industrial data, the practicality and simplicity of this performance method is illustrated by applying it in main temperature control system and boiler-turbine coordinate control system, which are representative in power generation field.
