In recent years, all-solid-state green laser has been rapid development, in materials processing, military, medical, entertainment the other fields and widely used. As a result, development low-cost, high-power green laser has becomes all the countries in the world laser estate competing to look at and appraise the target.In this paper, theoretical and experimental aspects of the side-pumped Nd:YAG/KTP frequency-doubling 532nm green laser system is in-depth studied. First, comply with the operating principle having analysed a solid-state-laser, high-average power for the operation of the Nd:YAG rod of the thermal effects brief introduction, on the simplified model of the basis, got the four-level system of the rate equation, and theory and polarization of light theory have been in progress to second harmonic generation introduce. And then have introduced several kinds laser crystal in common use and frequency doubling crystal function, have discussed the Nd:YAG heat-effect and KTP crystal frequency-doubling characteristic.Selection of the Nd:YAG/KTP crystal constitutes, tests out continuum of high-effect entire solid state green laser device. In the current pump 30A, repetition rate 4kHz, 12.5W to be output, pulse width of 90ns, the conversion efficiency of 38.3%. On 532nm green laser based, have been completed to green laser device polarization of the study, have got 400:1 above the polarization.
