With the development of information process, barcode, especially 2-D barcode technology has been quickly developed and widely applied. Considering the problems exist in the tickets selling at the railway station, a railway automatic tickets selling system based on 2-D barcode recognition technology and mobile payment service is proposed, which can reduce the time that passengers spend on tickets buying, promote the efficiency of tickets selling and decrease the railway operating costs.Firstly, starting with the error control coding theory, some kinds of common used error control codes are introduced in this paper. Deeply analyzing RS code coding and decoding theory and QR code coding theory, a strong basis for QR code recognition is established, and then a software flow of QR code coding is given.Secondly, in QR code recognition, the image preprocessing and barcode symbol locating and extracting are mainly presented. The image preprocessing algorithm consists of median filtering, binarization, binary image de-noising. A threshold value select method based on the deep blurred image is proposed, and a suitable threshold for every pixel is chosen to avoid the effect which caused by the uneven light to the image binarization, morphological operation is applied to eliminate noise which can clean the obstacle in the symbol location. According to the previous research which has low success ratio on the QR code symbol location and extraction from the fuzzy image taken by camera, the finder pattern location algorithm based on the contour searching is presented, then according to the finder pattern location, line scanning algorithm is adopted to find boundary of the code symbol, then the symbol is transformed to horizon, and then the standard code symbol is obtained. The information implicated in this symbol is obtained by inverse operation of QR code coding. The experiments indicate that: this method has better recognition performance and higher recognition ratio on fuzzy QR code image taken by camera.Thirdly, the operation principle of the railway automatic tickets selling system based on the 2-D barcode recognition technology is explained, and hardware design process and key software design method of the terminal are described in detail. And then the sample ticket printed by the terminal is shown.At last, the algorithm has been successfully applied in the railway automatic tickets selling terminal. The technique has good application prospect, is worth popularizing.
