Quantum correlated photon pairs have been critical foundation of realizing quantum information processing and revealing laws of quantum mechanics. Fiber-based quantum correlated photon pairs have the merit of high efficiency and handle convenience, which are the keys of boosting quantum information technology being used in engineering and progressing fundamental research. We need to investigate the property of the correlated photon pairs before they are used in various quantum systems.In this paper, the spectral property and the fidelity of the quantum correlated photon pairs generated in pulse pumped dispersion shifted fiber are theoretically analyzed. The main contents of the thesis are as follow:1. The classical and quantum theory of four-wave mixing are presented. Through solving coupled amplitude equations, we deduced the FWM gain expressions and conclude that obvious gain can be obtained only if phase matched. With the interaction Hamiltonian, the non-degenerate two-photon state is then calculated by means of first-order perturbation theory based on quantum theory. Single photon and coincidence photon counting formulas are derived from two-photon state, which are useful for studying the property of correlated pairs.2. We analyze the property of the quantum correlated photon pairs generated in dispersion shifted fiber which is pumped by a pulse. On one hand, with different experimental parameter, the spectral property of correlated photon pairs is studied. On the other hand, based on single photon and coincidence photon counting formulas combined with the experiential formulas, we analyzed the various factors that affect the fidelity, which is useful for tailoring experiment parameters and improving the purity of correlated photon pairs.3. The function of spectral property is extended to photon crystal fibers, and application of photon pairs in engineering is proposed.
