This paper mainly deals with the implement of the remote monitoring systembased on the GRB400 four-DOF mechanical arm. In this article, the key technologiesand methods of the remote control GRB400 four-DOF mechanical arm system are fullyresearched. This research paper is very useful to promote further development of controltechnology, and to help others master the basic remote monitoring ideas and networkcontrolling means. The paper can be divided into two major parts. What described in thefirst part (from the first chapter to chapter IV) is the basis of this article. We start withthe concept of the remote monitoring system, the introduction of GRB400 four-DOFmechanical arm, the technologies and methods of network communication, as well asthe brief introduction of remote video surveillance technology. Then, in the second part(form Chapter V to Chapter VI), we put forward a design of remote monitoring systemwhich is programmed by the WinSock API and based on C/S (Client/Server) pattern andUDP protocol. Users can monitor the GRB400 four-DOF mechanical arm working inboth single-axis and multi-axis modes by the client interface. Finally, the paper bringsup some problems and suggestions to the existing system from the fault tolerance,security, and real-time aspects of the system.
