In a certain sense, human lung cancer is "artificial tumor" caused by their bad habits. The earliest records of lung cancer began from the 16th century. Lung cancer is often asymptomatic in the early stage, when the lesions are smaller, the possibility of thorough resection is good, and the prognosis is good, too. But in the lung cancer patients seeking medical advice, the early stage lung cancer accounts for only about 7%, its causes are often asymptomatic or that the early stage symptoms are not typical. The lung cancers that have the symptoms mostly reach advanced stage, 80% of the cases that have be found can not be performed an operation. Therefore medical staff hopes to find lung cancer in the early asymptomatic time and we can give early diagnosis, early treatment and improve long-term survival rates and reduce mortality by increasing the rate of early detection of lung cancer. That attracted more and more medical experts and patients.Along with the development of medicine image visualization technology and appearance of many medicine image formation pattern, the medicine image automated analysis and processes become an important research direction in the image project domain and a bio-medical engineering domain. As a hot topic in medicine image processing, the automated analysis and recognition of cell image have received the people universal recognition. Of the current image diagnostic systems, most have been in use for morphology, features and gray color science, and analysis and diagnosis of cancer cells combining with expert system. Cell recognition, which has a broad application prospects, is a focus in the fields of image processing and pattern recognition.The cell images, from the smear made by people's sputum, can be enlarged by the microscope and collected by the cameras. The system is planned for early diagnosis of the census and diagnosis. Identification and classification of lung cancer cells are more difficult, because the feathers between cancer cells and normal cells or among different types of cancers have some differences, but have a certain similarity. Therefore it's so difficult.This article briefly introduced an imagery processing system used in the early lung cancer cell general survey. In this system, by using the morphological characteristics and color characteristics for cell recognition and detecting whether there are cancer cells in color images of sputum smear from the detected, we can judge whether the detected are suffering from cancer.
