| 3GPP LTE based on the technology of OFDM and MIMO is the long term evolution of 3G system, and it has made great improvement on the net structure and radio access. Handover is one of the most important aspects in mobile management. This paper focuses on the handover technology in LTE.This paper summarizes the network architecture and access network structure of LTE system, the process of handover in LTE is described in detail, handover algorithms based on intra-frequency, inter-frequency and inter-rat are provided in this paper. Using OPNET for simulation, we get the performances of handover under different setting of handover parameters, the results show the handover algorithms are feasible, and we find the significance of appropriate setting of handover parameters. However, the most suitable setting of handover parameters are changed due to the variety of network environment in reality, so this paper analysis the relation between handover failure and parameter setting, so does ping pang effect, a self-optimization method of handover parameters is brought forward, hence, the cost and complexity once paid on manual modifying can be reduced, and it makes operation and maintenance of network become automatically. |
