| The coming of the third generation communication technologies, and the appearance of big memory mobile devices, wireless multimedia transmission becomes more and more usual, and the destination of the evolution is mobile multi media receiver. The chip of this design is the very multimedia signal demodulation chip of the mobile multimedia receiver system, which is also one of core ships of this system. The algorithm of this system is applied as a digital soft IP. In the design, firstly, necessary analog modules should be integrated, and the design for test should be also implemented, including MBIST, test mode logic of different working modes. Secondly, global scan insertion needs to be done. Finally, logic and physical both need to be implemented. The most important jobs involved in this paper include global scan design and physical implementation. The first part includes scan insertion, development of test coverage and improvement of RTL code. The second part includes placement and routing, clock tree synthesis, power concept design and implementation, power consumption and voltage drop analysis and layout verification. These jobs cost half a year, and now the chip has been tested on board and successfully taped out after once metal fix. This paper will describe the methodology and some improvements of logic and physical implementation in detail from five sides, which are scan design, power design, clock tree synthesis, placement and routing, and physical verification. |
