This paper performs the research in signal processing terminal of the optical fiber vibration sensing system, which is a part of the project "Optical fiber vibration sensing system based on double loop Mach—Zehnder interferometer". Here, a real-world vibration locating system design and implementation is presented.With vibration locating principle of optical fiber vibration sensing system, the scheme of single vibration locating is put forward and signal processing flow is designed with steps of algorithm. By analyzing the structure and function of relevant DSP peripheral McBSP/EDMA and TMS320C6416DSK onboard resource AIC23,two developing models on basis of hardware interface and device driver are respectively exploited and discussed.The terminal consists of two function modules: signal collecting module and data processing module. With regard to express communication need of fiber sensing system, approaches are made based on the traditional interfacing mode.Concrete implementation of hardware configuration,algorithm designing and software programming is explicitly described in this paper. In signal collecting module, two optimization techniques are applied utilizing Ping-Pong buffer and EDMA transfer link to improve the real-time performance of data transmission. In data processing module, with valid vibration signal being extracted, an algorithm integrating auto-relation and co-relation arithmetic to detect the spatial position of vibration is simulated and validated on MATLAB. Test result on DSK shows that, both the hardware and software aspect of the signal processing terminal meet the expected requirements of the system. Input signal from the sensor could be collected in real time and spatial locating of single vibration is realized.
