Owing to 1444nm laser generated by Nd:YAG solid-state laser providing high water absorption and putting out middle infrared laser with 1064nm laser, it is widely used in scientific research, production, iatrology and military. People are interested in it and paying more attention to it. Recently, more and more people are studying 1444nm laser in China, however, the technology is unmatured, especially the pulse energy is low which greatly limits its application. Based on a great deal of relevant documents, this paper includes the research of 1444nm Nd:YAG solid-state laser and the optimum design of laser.The primary content reads as follows:(1) It indicates the method of achieving the output of 1444nm laser, induces the Nd:YAG laser's threshold condition corresponding to suppressing the 1064nm and 1320nm transition while creating the 1444nm transition, and calculates the reflectance parameters of high selective mirrors and gives the best transmissivity of output mirror.(2) This paper analyzes the producing principle of 1444nm laser of Nd:YAG. As is shown in four energy levels, we describe rate equations, put forward gain theoretical model, also introduce the impact of ASE (Amplified Spontaneous Emission), ESA (Excited State Absorption), transmissivity of output mirror, pumping and achieve numerical simulation.(3) On the basis of the model, we study the resonatory cavity, analyze the performance of dynamical resonators and misalignment insensitivity resonator and discuss the characteristic of plane-plane resonator. This paper presents the design of pumping cavity, cooling system and other elements, while puting forward experimental method and presenting experimental diagram.The research and design of this paper provide foundation for the following work, also we can refer to the methods and conclusion when we analyze the oscillatation of other minor wavelengths.
