The rapid rail transit plays an important role in urban traffic system. Some sections of the track, because of its special geographic structure, have potential safety problems. It is especially important to have a real-time monitoring of these sections from the security point of view. Laser ranging system which is non-contact, distance provides an optimal scheme for the real-time monitoring system. However, consisted of discrete components, the traditional laser ranging system is big in size and low accuracy, debugging difficulties, as well as non-strandard interfaces and high development costs. In view of this, from the view of market demand, this paper presents an FPGA-based laser ranging subsystem design. This design scheme adopts the improved SOC design idea proposed by Chris Rowen, overcomes long developing period, high cost, lack of flexibility etc which the traditional SOC facing and the costs relatively lower. It provides a feasible solution for the laser ranging subsystem.With the continuous improvement of performance, the FPGA has been far more the prototype design tool in many different fields, and becomes a part of the whole system. Moreover, the FPGA configuration data is usually an important part of intellectual property of the whole system. However, because of improper protection, illegal copying is very serious. The laser ranging system we will design also has the same situation. Well, authentication is one of the best options for the security solution. Use the 1-Wire interface, build-in SHA-1 engine DS2432 security memory chips is wildly used in the field of peripherals and tamper-resistant identification, authentication etc. Based on the communication between DS2432 and FPGA, the thesis discusses the reading/writing operation and key modification in detail, and then it presents a security certification design based on DS2432 which provides a low cost and high reliability scheme for the Intellectual property of laser ranging subsystem based on FPGA.
