In this dissertation, the author makes a particular introduction to the subject laser diode pumped solid state laser (DPSSL, for short), and carries on some experimental research in this field.First, it's mainly expatiated on how the laser works, including the theory on optical resonance and some material used to produce laser. On the base, the author emphasizes much academic and technical viewpoint on DPSSL. It's introduced from diode laser to the coupling optical system, from the DPSSL crystal to the DPSSL structure. The laser SHG technology is written in this dissertation, too.Secondly, it's reported that the author finished the DPSSL experimental system in his poor laboratory, where the crystal Nd:YVO4 and KTP is in use. It's said that the pumping threshold is 542mw. The output power of green laser through SHG is 11.21mw when the pumping power is 900mw. The optical conversion efficiency reached 1.3%.Finally, the author carries deep experimental on the driver and temperature control system which exist in the laboratory, and gives much advanced advice to improve the work efficiency of the system. Then, the program which communicate with PC is also finished.
