In recent years, with the development of communication technology, all kinds ofmultimedia services grow prosperously. These new businesses supply users withflexible and various sevices. Specially, multimedia stream based on video and audio isbecoming more and more popular. At the same time family network products tendtowards diversification and Information Appliance will become the new campaign ofmanufacturer.Designed to handle non-real time data traffic, Internet can only provide"best-effort "service which cannot satisfy the Quality of Service requirement forcarrying vedio and audio. How to improve its real-time capability so that QoS ofcommunication can be guaranteed is a critical technique issue and one of thetechnique difficulty. This thesis is focused on the in-depth research of MP3 frame andcodec and proposes a new concept of data recovery in real-time system in detail.The paper first gives a broad overview of the technique background and futuredirections of family multimedia system. Then the critical protocols of real-timesystem, including SIP, SDP, SAP and RTP/RTCP, are analized. Because there existsdependency relationship between the MP3 frames, MP3 file isn't suitable forreal-time transmission. Based on the in-depth research of MP3 technology, the paperdesign a method that transform MP3 frame into Application Data Unit (ADU), whichis suitable for real-time transmission. At last paper add interleaving technology inorder to inprove error correction.The whole design scheme is given in the thesis, including hardware platform andsoftware architecture. Every function module is analyzed and the audio module isimplemented. In the test process, two methods were adopted. One is to transmit MP3audio directly and the other is to transmit worked MP3 audio. The test results testifythat this scheme increases the efficiency of transmission and reduces network delay.
