The inorganic liquid laser has various advantages such as high destroyed threshold and efficient heat management which make it very useful in the field of scientific research, medical treatment, information and military. The traditional liquid laser pumped by flash lamp did not achieve a good spectrum matching between absorption and pump sources, therefore the laser output efficiency is low which limit their research and application. Inorganic liquid laser pumped by LD not only retain the advantages of liquid laser, but also solve the problem of low efficiency when pumped by flash lamp, and then become one of the important liquid lasers.This paper firstly reviews the domestic and foreign development and research result of inorganic liquid laser. Then the basic theory of liquid laser is analyzed and discussed. On this basis, the Nd3+ doped inorganic liquid laser medium in different concentrations was prepared, and the toxicity and corrosion of the medium are analyzed. According to the test, appropriate preventive measures and experimental equipment were selected..After the preparation of laser medium, this paper has a study on inorganic liquid laser experiments in static state. Firstly, the absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra, fluorescence lifetime and absorption coefficient were measured which proved it feasibility of the laser output. Then the liquid laser pumped by continuous LD was researched. But due to the severe heat distortion of refractive index effects, we did not get the laser output under continuous pump, which tell us that the static fluid laser output still need further study. But through the experiment pumped by flash lamp we proved that the laser output can be obtained in the condition of short pulse time and sufficient pumping energy.After proved the feasibility on laser output, the paper further make a research on inorganic liquid laser pumped by pulse LD, which not only solve the problem of heat distortion caused by continuous pumps, but also can obtain a higher energy efficiency and single pulse output than flash lamp pump condition. The laser spectrum, slope efficiency, energy and laser temporal pulse were measured. From the laser experiment in different cavity parameter we get the best cavity length and mirrors, in which condition the best single pulse energy of 32.9mJ and conversion efficiency of 15.5% were obtained.After a detailed analysis on the reason of why static liquid laser can not achieve a high power output, the paper raises the feasibility of circulatory system. Firstly, the improved circulatory system and pump coupling were designed. Using the circulation system the laser spectra, laser pulse width and conversion efficiency were measured. When the pumping repetition rate is 100Hz and the pumping power is 26.2W, we achieve the max laser output power of 1.17W. Finally, with the research on the laser output characteristic and laser stability in different pumping repetition rate, it can be proved that the designed circulatory system was competent on fluid liquid laser and has a practical prospect.
