Along with the rapid development of the electric power industry, Thermal power units is moving towards a large capacity and high parameter direction. Thermal power unit simulator as an important tool that improve operation and management's personnel diathesis and reduce the accident, although it has already got more popularization and application widespread, but as the unit operation's safety and economy increasingly rely on control system performance,level and engineer's ability that build and maintain a control system. This trend for the simulator research and development raised some new issues, so that the operator except for pre-service training, they also need to control the system configuration, control method, system optimization direction. Therefore present thermal power simulator in the control system besides the traditional PID control method, apparently still needs more intelligent control method to optimize the performance of the simulator.Fuzzy control as the most meaningful to a control method in intelligent fields, its theory and applied research related to the deepening and perfection, and also gained a series of achievements and in automatic control, communication, pattern recognition, etc to a wide range of applications after decades of research and development. But at present the application that about fuzzy control in thermal power simulation is less. Because fuzzy control can simulate the human way of thinking, can implement effective control for some object that can't construct its mathematical model controlled, so which the fuzzy control method is applied to thermal power simulation machine and set up fuzzy control module in the simulator, is not only can enrich simulator's module library, improve the simulator performance, but also is helpful that fuzzy control is applied to the power plant through the verification and analysis in the simulator for fuzzy control method.This paper focuses on the application of fuzzy control in thermal simulator, mainly do the following two aspects: (1) analyzed the dynamic characteristics of the boiler drum level and the traditional control programs, designed the fuzzy controller for 200MW thermal power unit of the drum level simulation object, and set up a fuzzy control module in simulator, and debugged;(2) carried out the simulation experiment in simulator for 200MW thermal power units based on combined the fuzzy control module with a traditional three-impulse drum level control system of simulator, and compared with the traditional control scheme to verify the fuzzy control's superiority of drum level control...
