At the end of the last century, the media industry in China, in order to face the fierce competition home and abroad, immerged a trend to integrate the strategy by setting up groups or mergering other medium. Through a series of reforms, the media enterprises enlarged their size, developed a clear idea of commercial running, and can run according to the demand of modern enterprise system.In recent years, the industry, aiming at being large and strong, strives to further integrate to raise soft power. Some media enterprises focus effective integration on corporate culture, hoping to establish band figure, further strategic management, and strengthen core competitiveness. These steps take effects, but the cultural integration of the industry still faces difficulties of various kinds.In china, the aim of mass media such as newspaper, radio, television and the internet is to serve the people and the society. Being the mouthpiece of the Party, the government and the people, the specific social function of the media registers as releasing information, propagandaing, reflecting the people's will, spreading knowledge, offering entertainment, and selling products. The basic goal of researching the human resource of the media industry is to fully play its role of serving the society.Proceeding from the current situation of human resource management in the media industry in China, take ST broadcast television group for example, and combined with the theories of human resource management in modern industries, this paper puts "the human resource management of media industry" forward to accommodate to the development of the media industry in China, defines the viewpoint, and analyses the fundamental characteristics as well as the implementation. By adopting the human resource management theories at home and abroad, utilizing others'modes and experiences, this paper summarizes the definition of human resource, and finally provides some references for the research of modern human resource management in media industry based on current development and the problems in development.
