With the development of laser techniques , 1.5μm high power continuous wave (cw) single-frequency laser has been used for scientific research and other fields. Particularly, 1.5μm laser is a source of low loss optical communication window, it plays an important role on laser spectrum, fiber communication, quantum communication and so on.In this thesis, we proposed a scheme to generate 1.5μm high power cw single-frequency laser and demonstrate it. In our scheme, Single frequency semiconductor laser (seeding source) is injected into an erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) and 1.5μm high power cw single-frequency laser was obtained. When the power of injected signal is 1mW, pumping current is 2600mA, the maximum output power is 2.27W. We also study the running characteristics of before and behind laser amplifier , the characteristics include laser linewidth, power stability of short time, frequency shift , power stability of long time, laser intensity noise and so on.The thesis is formed by the following four chapters.Chapter I Introduction. In this chapter, we introduce the background, the purpose of our experiment and our scheme.Chapter II Introduction of single-frequency semiconductor laser and EDFAIn this chapter, the principle of semiconductor laser is introduced. We also introduce some factors which affect semiconductor laser operation, include laser current, temperature and so on. Based on this, we also analyze the principle of the single frequency semiconductor laser and the mechanism of single-frequency operation. At the same time, the components of EDFA , principle and characteristic parameter are introduced. It is theoretical basis for our experiment.Chapter II The experimental study of 1.5μm high power cw single...
