The Study Of Double-Clad Fiber Laser

In 1963, someone put forward the concept of fiber laser. But at that time, the bump power is very low, so is the output power.In recent years, the study on double-clad fiber laser has became a focus . The double-clad fiber laser has the advantages of simple structure and high reliability, high output power, high conversion efficiency, high beam quality. It has promising prospect in material processing, laser welding, medicine treatment and military. In this paper, the double-clad fiber, the fundamental principle and key technologies of double-clad fiber laser are introduced. From the theoretic analyses, we draw the conclusion that the pump power can be heighten by adopting the eccentric core double-clad fiber .And we put forward a new coupling technology : micro-prism technology.
