With more and more sites intruded by hackers, security experts have found that it is not enough to build a comprehensive security system only using defensive techniques. The intrusion detection is a new dynamic security technique in addition to traditional security protect techniques, such as firewall and data encryption. IDS watches the computer and network traffic for intrusive and suspicious activities, it detects not only the intrusion from the Internet hackers, but also from the intranet users.But The growth of network bandwidth requires that intrusion detection systems have higher performances than ever.In this paper, the principles and technologies of intrusion detection system are introduced. Load balancing technologies are also discussed. After analyzing the disadvantages of the traditional NIDS, our work and researches focus on the key implementation techniques of network intrusion detection system based on load balancing technology. The following contents are discussed in the thesis.1) a network intrusion detection framework based on load balancing technology is proposed.2) The growth of network bandwidth requires that intrusion detection systems have high performance than ever. In this paper, some effective load balancing policies are presented. By using Load Balancer, the overall detection efficiency of NIDS can be increased.3) Some key technologies are introduced in detail.4) after analyzing the limitations of the network intrusion detection system , this paper proposes a dynamic network security model, which adopt technology of firewall, honeypot and etc.
