This paper discusses the stable area theory of the Z-cavity ,and gives the experimental results of the high power LD end-pumped laser. In this paper,we firstly report the stable working area of Z-cavity by using of the analytic equations of thermal lens,which are produced by high pumped power.We also put forward a new method that can reduce the bad influence on cavity stable area caused by thermal lens.It is to place a compensation lens in the cavity.We got a ideal result by using of this method. We analyzes the LD end-pumped Nd:YAG self-mode-locked Z-cavity for three different conditions by cavity propagation matrix theory.First,takes no account of the thermal lens theory.Second,takes account of the thermal lens.third,adds a compensation lens.The analysis shows that the compensation lens can greatly expand the stable area of the laser with thermal lens.Basing on this method,we selects a set of the cavity parameter to do a series experiments.When we adds a compensation lens in the cavity,we realizes the continuous run of the LD end-pumped Nd:YAG Z-cavity.The results proves the right of our theory analysis.
