The value orientation of the Chinese curriculum standard in general reflects concern about life existence and its overall development, which specifically refers to"changing the pursuit of curriculum unity into respecting diversity and individual differences; alter the presuppositive and exclusive nature of the curriculum into generative and open; shifting the focus of the curriculum from knowledge-orientation into student-orientation."Therefore Chinese language teachers are required to change the old educational concept, continuously improve their quality and keep pace up with the growth of the curriculum.A lot of problems can be detected among present Chinese homework. A large amount of homework with low quality results in low efficiency of student learning. Too much learning burden is loaded on the students. Some homework is too easy while others may be designed too difficult, lack of pertinence and hierarchy. The majority of the homework, lack of system integrity, is found in a monotonous form with an unbalanced structure. What's worse, In terms of correcting the homework, too much attention is paid to the results, while the process is ignored, which leaves a less effective feedback. The author believes that students'subjective role in their homework should be guaranteed and they should be encouraged to display their talents. Only through this way, the value pursuit of Chinese language teaching can be met and students can enjoy a comprehensive, free and healthy development. This paper consists of four chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the research background and the current situation of the research into homework design at home and abroad, followed by the aim and the content of the thesis. Chapter Two is devoted to a literature review. Firstly the concepts of"work"and"homework"are defined. Then, the aim and significance of Chinese homework design are discussed. Thirdly, the theoretical basis of optimized design is illustrated. In the third chapter, in terms of how to optimize Chinese homework design, the first to be discussed are the design principles and types that can be devised. Then, the author focuses on how to apply multiple intelligence theory to junior Chinese homework design. Of course, other theories are integral, since these theories themselves are complementary. Therefore, during the process of designing, teachers should take all related factors into consideration so that the designed homework can work best for the students. The fourth chapter is a conclusion part, which explains significance and necessity of the optimized homework.
