Cooperative Leaning was started in the United States in 1970s and it has a history of several decades now。scholars and researchers in China began to devote themselves to it from 1980s,it is still a newborn thing, it was only for about more than ten years when it was used in China teaching and educational fields。With the further development of secondary educational reform,cooperative learning in high schools has become one of the important ways to improve the general competences of high school students。At present, cooperative learning is one of new methods required by present new curriculum reform of foundation education in our country。National Standards of English Course clearly indicates:the focus of reform of English course is to change the situation of putting more emphasis on grammar and lexical explanations,and of the tendency of overlooking learners'language performance on actual occasions。The reform advocates experience,practice,participation,collaborative and communicative learning style and task-oriented approach based on learners'interests,life experience and cognitive level,aiming at improving learners'comprehensive abilities。State Department also made it clear in the document on the decision of reform and development of foundation education:"encourage cooperative learning, enhance mutual communication between students,develop each other together,and promote the development of learning and teaching。"This thesis proceeds with the reality of English classroom and the basis of educational theory of cooperative learning,describing the intension, theoretical foundation and theory meaning,It also combines the actual conditions of the English classroom of senior high school,analyzing the great significance of the effective cooperation。In view of some defects and problems in teaching at the moment,the author put forward the available strategies:dividing the students into groups and classroom administration,trying to establish the effective methods about cooperative learning by English teaching。Besides,the author used the experimental and questionnaire for researching,trying to display the operation that the cooperative leaning is available to be applied in English teaching in Senior high school。The result shows that the cooperative leaning does play an important role in developing the students'subjective initiative and it also links cooperative learning with the ability of speaking,communication,cooperation and creative thinking。Meanwhile,this method can sufficiently develop teachers'potential。Teachers and students can both make great progress in this process。This method can promote the efficiency in an English class where too many students are involved。Furthermore,it gradually educates and trains students'cooperative spirits and makes full preparation for students'further study and entering society。...
