Mr Ye Shengtao's the whole book reading thought is an important part of language teaching thought . Ye Shengtao had expounded on "read the whole book" from the course, teaching materials and teaching. language courses need to train the ability to listen,speak,read and write. It need to develop good reading habits, teach students appreciate the quality of the text. Ye Shengtao seems in reading the whole book is the fundamental way to achieve the objectives of Language courses. In his opinion , Secondary school language textbook should adopt a whole book or take the whole book as the main body. For the development of language skills and habits,teachers should lead students to be able to "read the whole book" , to discuss and analyse the whole book in the process of language teaching.Mr yeshengtao's whole book reading thoughts is introduced apropos of nothing. It was gradually formed in the inheritance of Chinese traditional education. Mr Liang Qichao's "Getting Started Guide Guoxue" has provided bibliography for the students for reading at that time. Mr Hushi has adjusted the bibliography of Chinese national culture. He has recommended some books. And he has revised in progress later. Mr Liang Qichao and Mr Hushi provided "the whole book reading" bibliography from the perspective of classical Chinese. Mr He Zhongying , Mr Lin Yixi and others has a discussion on regarding that the " novels in the vernacular Chinese " as the Chinese textbooks ". It has established the direct basis for " the whole book reading". Mr Xia Gaizun pays close attention to"the whole book reading"at the same time with Mr Ye Sheng Tao. And he has been published his own view on what to read and how to read. Mr Zhu Ziqing prepared in cooperation with Mr Ye Shengtao to write the "guidance Examples reading"and "guidance Examples skimming" agree with rectify the whole book as the textbook.. Mr Zhu Ziqing believed that the good "anthology" is still the main teaching language learning. Mr Yu Guanying gave a direct rebuttal to Mr Ye Shengtao's articles. He thought that it is nothing to do with a whole book or single article to be the textbook, and it is no difference that the whole book for the text book or for the extra-curricular reading. Mr Pu Jiangqing and others also made theri own point of view to " the whole book reading ". The formation and improvement of Mr Ye Shengtao's "the whole book reading" thoughts can not be separated from the traditional language education and modern language education. YeShengtao's thoughts of"The Whole Book Reading"had ever had influence in the field of the Chinese education. But this influence is weaker than the other thoughts of the Chinese education. In the field of curriculum construction .Chinese curriculum standards was pay close attention to"The Whole Book Reading"before 1949. But after 1949 it was not concern in the Chinese curriculum standards or the syllabus. Until the Chinese curriculum was out in 2001.In the field of teaching materials construction. There weren't a system for the whole book reading in the text book."The Whole Book Reading"is still an extra-curriculum reading materials .In the field of Chinese teaching .Because there aren't a textbook for the whole book reading. So most of the teachers don't think it is important. In the field of researching .GuHuangchu called for paying attention to YeShengtao's thoughts of"The Whole Book Reading". But few of people followed. The thoughts of the whole book reading haven't reaching the degree that it should reach In the field of Chinese education.More and more people begin to pay attention to reading with the gradual increase of the rational thinking of the traditional education, with the introduction of the foreign reading ideas and the reading styles. It should have the responsibility of the Chinese education in school to make the students read the excellent works. The teachers execute the reading guidance according to the age characteristics, the books'features and the rule of the reading. It makes the rich effectiveness to read the whole books according to the evaluation of the reading results and the process of the reading guidance. Naturally, the teachers should deal with the relations between the whole books and the teaxtbooks. The teachers should make an array of the Chinese textbooks to the entire book as the main part. It's the core about the YeShengtao's mind of reading the whole book.The research of Ye Shengtao's mind about"the Whole Book Reading"is the essence of Traditional education."The Whole Book Reading"is very important, and it's the important way for the erect of Chinese Education and Chinese Teaching.
