1 Research PurposeBased on such purposes of our physical education classes as"to promote the overall quality of the students","to prioritize students'health"and"to make this course a lifelong benefit to the students", the physical education curriculum of primary schools in the recent years are inspected and the following problems have been found: A) the development of this course is lagging behind the development of our society in that physical education still targets at competition or simply bodybuilding; B) the course is not tailored to the actual needs of the students, nor is it associated with the experience of the students, therefore, it stays away from the goal of becoming a lifelong benefit to the students; C) the course centers around the teachers instead of the students, and targets at competition and bodybuilding instead of encouraging the individuality and creativity of the students; D) the course focuses on stretching the physical limits of the students and polishing their techniques instead of promoting the overall development of them, and this course adopts the one-for-all standards instead of evaluating the each student objectively, depriving some students of the joy in this course and driving them to the extent of hating to take physical education classes; E) the concentrated management also makes this course incompatible to the economic development and social needs in various areas.The status quo is that fewer and fewer students tend to appreciate this course as they grow older. Many students love sports but they don't like to take physical education classes. And recent years have witnessed a decline in the students'physical quality. Both the students and the teachers are unhappy about the current primary school physical education classes and call for a reform. As an inseparable part in the primary school curriculum, physical education classes are in urgent need of reform.2 Research MethodsReferences, questionnaires and statistics are all included in this research.3 Conclusion1) The development of the physical education class in primary school reveals the following trends: A) the course will be expanded to allow a good combination of practice and theory; B) this course will be more entertaining; C) the course will be more diversified; D) the course will be increasingly based on related theories and be taught together with some health care knowledge; and E) the course will be designed to show more of our Chinese features. Among all the trends, there are still many problems remain unsolved: A) different teachers find it hard to share the same opinion on this course; B) the course do not have a strong Chinese feature and the traditional physical education elements wait to be unearthed; C) the question of how to connect this course with students daily life and make it a lifelong benefit for them is still unanswered; D) there is big gap between this course and the health education classes, which requires more efforts towards a good solution; E) the requirements on the course also need to be more operation-friendly.2 The common trends of the physical education course in primary schools of other countries are: A) this course is sectioned according to the field of study of different students; B) stress has been laid to promote students'physical capability as well as their sports techniques; C) the course is more flexible and diversified, capable of satisfying the individual needs of the students; D) there is a good combination of the course and the health education; E) the course is much more closely connected with students'daily life so as to make it a lifelong benefit; and F) the material for the course contains the content of contest sports. From these we have learned that our course in this area should: A) focus on the actual need of the school and pay attention to the differences of each individual student; B) make room for the population of health care knowledge; C) be more diversified, flexible and localized; D) should make the benefit of this course a lifelong one and make itself more entertaining as well; and E) be more specific in terms of requirements and offer relevant examples.3 By investigation and analysis on the teaching practice of this course in the primary schools, many problems have surfaced, for example, A) the teaching content is often repeated; the course can not satisfy the needs of the society and the students; C) the teaching guideline is too much, too difficult and too specific and can not be fulfilled in classes; D) many content of the course is still focusing on the contest sports, lacks local features and is out of style; E) health care knowledge is not highly stressed in this course; and F) the course is in need of pragmatic standards.4 Countermeasures: A)we shuold enhance the strength of palaestras constraction, for the sake of ensuring physical education successfully; B) physical education teachers need to adapt their mind to the development of this course and improve their personal qualifications; C)improve physical education injury laws and regulations , reduce physical education teachers psychological burdens, in order to normal the physical education teaching ; D) the practice of the course needs to be more practical for operation so as to meet the needs of the students; E) in this primary school course, more attention should be given to the differences of individual students by making them the center of course design and be given to the differences of various schools and districts; F) health care education should enter a new stage so as to become an important section in the course; and G) efforts should be made to explore the potential of the course in the primary schools.
