| In the methods of investigation, literature study, statistics, with universities and colleges in Fujian province as objects studied, this dissertation probed into the successful experience and insufficiency of elective physical education course reform in universities and colleges in Fujian province after investigated the present situation of it. It also explored the development and its supporting conditions. The result showed that:l)There are 14 undergraduate universities and 2 colleges in Fujian province set elective physical education course. The proportion of male and female teachers engaged in this course is 3:1, most of which are young. Most of the programs male teachers set are rivalry, such as ball games. By contrast, the ones female teachers set are physical jerks.2)The main target of elective physical education course is to impart sport skills. Traditional class-unit, imparted, manipulative teaching is dominant mode. The choice of teaching content meets the need of society development, the strong suit of teachers, and the requirement of students. The general outline of the course is established according to the actual condition of school. The score is graded by teachers.3)Students' aim to take elective physical education course is to learn sport and social skills and improve comprehensive qualities. The programs they chose are mostly ball games and physical jerks. They are satisfied with teachers' attitude, teaching method, and skills. But programs set, time of course, amount of curriculum, teaching condition, and teaching form are still insufficient.4)The reasons why other universities and colleges do not set elective physical education course are mainly due to leaders' consciousness, quantity and quality of physical education teachers, the field and equipment.5)The reform and development of elective physical education course in universities and colleges should incarnate the guideline "health first. people oriented". Teaching content should be pertinent, scientific, arranged, and systematic, so as to build up a teaching content system combined theory, skills and abilities. Set programs on base of students' choice, at the same time, give attention to the requirement of social development and students' interest, and make differential treatment according to gender. The classroom teaching should be sportful, joyful, and successful. The organizing of course could be mutual choice, compensating service, both in and out classroom. The score could be graded synthetically assess knowledge, innovation, and effect.6)Strengthening the management to elective physical education course, improving teachers' comprehensive quality, making full use of fields and stadiums are all supporting conditions for the development of elective physical education course. |
