The emergence of the information society and the prosperity of the globalization have provided a stage for the invisible city. On the stage, the invisible city with its own characters, which are high mobility and uncertainty, gives a deep shock to all the aspects of the urban life. The thesis firstly defined the word "invisible city" and classified its constitutions, then chose the non-technological factors as an emphasis, gave a detailed research on the social group, social structure and social control of the invisible city. Lastly, it described the challenges and opportunities that the urban management system had to confront during the course of the development of the invisible city.By analyzing, the author drew the conclusion as followed: as a new form of the urban development, the invisible city is not only closely related to its technical factors but also to its non-technical factors. The former means the infrastructure of the city and the latter includes the social group, social structure and so on. Both the technical and non-technical factors will play important roles. Many scholars have done a thorough research on the technical factors but it is weak in the non-technological factors. So it is necessary to discuss the non-technological factors with a sociological view. By doing this, on one hand we can know how to build an invisible city, on the other hand we can enrich the relative subjects of sociology.
