Shift of attention is one of the characters of attention. In the visual environment, our attention will shift from one point to another, and the shift process is the shift of attention. According to source of clues, shift of attention can be divided into: endogenous attention shifts and exogenous attention shifts. The present study was intended to reserch the development of attention shifts of primary school children and its influential factors. The subjects were first, third, and fifth grade students. We focused on how the number of interference items and stimulus onset asynchrony (SOA) affect the development of attention shifts of primary school children.Experiment 1 studied the ability of endogenous attention shifts and its influential factors, and experiment 2 studied the ability of exogenous attention shifts and its influential factors. The results showed that:⑴regardless of grade level, the number of distractors, SOA length, and whether boys or girls, primary school children, the speed of endogenous attention shifts is lower than exogenous attention shifts;⑵the children's attention shifts ability increases with age, whether endogenous or exogenous shift of attention;⑶whether the speed of endogenous or exogenous attention shifting, both increase with the increase of distractors numbers and the reduction of SOA.
