Study On Schweitzer's Ethical Thought

Albert Schweitzer was a famous Western ethical thinker in the 20th century. Schweitzer's ethical thought is mainly composed of three parts. First, through criticized the spiritual decline of Western society raised the moral ethic of cultural renaissance; Second, based on the alienation and reification of human reflection, construction of self-improvement of personal ethics; Finally, Schweitzer base on the non-anthropocentric perspective, founded the environmental ethics of reverence for life, foundation for the modern environmental ethics a solid theoretical basis.Schweitzer is not only a great ethics thinker, but also a brilliant ethics practitioner. Schweitzer has participated in community lectures, while promoting his ethics, on the other hand to raise funds for Africa infrastructure. During the lifetime of most of the time, Schweitzer is rooted in Africa, practice his personal goals of life-saving. Meanwhile, Schweitzer actively protect African ecology, care for local animals, set an example for his environment ethics practice.This article base on the ethical perspective, using the method of value analysis and historical research to made the study on Schweitzer's ethical thinking and practice. Combined with the current status of the social to talk about the value of the Schweitzer's ethical thinks.
