Study Of Sex Differences Of Interruption Phenomenon And It's Enlightenment For Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language

Interruption as a common speech phenomenon,the research about it has very important significance.In this paper,by social surveys,we make a data statistical analysis about sex difference circumstances of interruption phenomenon and their causes of formation based on collecting,translating 17 paragraph conversation materials in the natural environment,and we make a comparative and contrastive analysis with previous research results.In addition,the paper also investigates the factors of successful interruptions and sex selection circumstances of language strategies in successful interruptions,aim at guiding Chinese teachers apply the laws we get from our investigation to the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and guiding the foreign students be familiar with the language factor and the non-verbal behavior factor of turn-taking in everyday conversations and master the language strategies of successful turn-bidding,eventually be able to snatch the voice,smoothly participate in the conversation and achieve the purpose of communication.According to the survey of the paper,we believe that:the society at present,in Chinese everyday conversations,female like interruption better than male.Two different forms of interruption,male and female are more inclined to use the interruption,and the frequency of using interruption of female is far higher than the frequency of male;the frequencies of using overlapping of male and female are both not high,but roughly the same.There are more interruption phenomenon between the heterosexual speakers,and the behavioral performance of interruption of female is more active,female is easier to get the success of turn-bidding;interruption phenomenon between the same sex is relatively less,the performance of male and female is roughly the same,but male is easier to get the success of turn-bidding by the way of interruption,and between the same sex the overlap is not a good form of interruption to obtain the voice.In addition,in the heterosexual interruption,both male and female are more maintained a positive attitude towards co-operation after the successful interruption,most of the time are willing to continue the exchange of the topic of conversation which the other side is interested in,but to change the topic of conversation,often the behavioral performance of female is more active;in the same-sex interruption,both male and female are relatively strong when they master the right of controlling the topics of conversation after the successful interruption,while male will basically cooperate the other after the successful overlap,continue the original topic of conversation with a very good co-operative attitude.Age,intimacy level between the speakers have effect on the sex differences of the interruption phenomenon,but the occupation,education level have little effect on the sex differences of the interruption phenomenon.The formation of sex differences of these interruption phenomenon is not the result of a single factor,but by social status,psychology,social division of labor and cultural roles,social values,the relationship between the speakers and many other factors which combined to form.The factors of successful interruptions include two types:language factor,non-verbal behavior factor.The language strategies in successful interruptions also include four types: phonetics strategies,vocabulary strategies,grammar strategies,pragmatic strategies.
