Baroque is a period when European vocal music highly throve. Though it's far ago from modern-time , the works are still popular to singers and widely circulated . That's based on its features . Baroque songs are of general themes , full of content , with nice tune and sorts of rhythm , it uses kinds of decoration and music forms , focuses on neat and strict structure , the thythm and speed are both regular . In the baroque time , singers' singing skill was asked to be well improved .For example their voice need to be pure and at a high position and not compelled , each word should follow the rule of bel canto which is strictly in accord with the professional system, so , it was a golden time of bel canto.The ancient Baroque arias and songs, in addition to the art at that time to reflect on the content of the progressive thinking and the spirit of humanism enough for us to learn from, in vocal music concert technically, but also set a good example. Most of the works are composed in mediant zone , the range is not very wide without either strong alt or dense undertone.The works are full of lynical style.They're perfect to train all sorts of voice to improve the mediant sound. Meanwhile the styles of the songs are pure with no exaggerated decoration , there're long ,linked-up sentences in the lyrics , the comparation of rhythm is clear to show strong or weak . These are perfectly and helpful to form a right skill to breathe and pronouce the words . Baroque songs are still the required teaching material in the musical academies all over the world . After all , baroque music is valuable in every field of form fine tone , dealing with vocal music skills , it makes our study of vocal music regularly reasonably improved in accord with bel canto .
