On the basis of administration and management styles, west Europe feudal economy includes two periods. These are manorial system and rental system. In manorial system, feudal lords or their steward administrate and manage the produce process directly; and during rental system, the demesnes of the lord are divided into little parts, rented them to peasants. Lord commonly just draws in rents from his demesne. Rent especially in money is the main income of the lords. To this period, lord has live to city and indirectly relate to his fields. Manorial system comes to transiting to rental system.We pay our attention and intention to manorial system. Commonly, manor is thought to be a natural economic unit that can produce almost every thing to meeting lord and serf's need.'Lord's demesne'and'serf works and services'are though of the two essential elements. And from which the manorial system is set up.The Lord's demesne is so important to lord. Farming output is comprised the main income of the lord. Outputs of the demesne provide food, meat and other source to common consume, and its surplus is to maintain lord's feudal privilege expenditure. Serf works and services are also important to lord and to manorial system. At first, serf works and services are necessary to the lord's demesne. Second, lord can draw in part of the output of the serfs'manses. Thirdly, through labor, serf can get the part output of the manse to live on.Maintaining enough serfs in manorial system and also undertaking lord's demesne normally management are contents of manorial administration and management. These activities are so important to stability of the manorial system. So, the writer is try to study manorial system through these aspects, just as land tenure, produce course, producing organization and management, land management, and so on.
