On The Cultivation Of Creative Thinking In Oil-painting Teaching

Oil painting has developed hard in China, and so has oil-painting teaching. For the past phase, circles of oil-painting teaching have devoted much attention to the cultivation of "creative quality", but the actual teaching methods have fallen behind. As a university art teacher, the author feels fully that the breakthrough point of the reform and development for China's oil-painting teaching should lie in the practical cultivation of students' creative thinking.Firstly, the author reviews the hard development of oil painting in China, which leads up to his thinking on the cultivation of creative- thinking in oil-painting teaching; then he analyses the relations between each part of creative thinking and oil-painting teaching, based on which he expounds the importance of cultivation and inspiration of creative thinking in oil-painting teaching. Secondly, from such aspects as beginning with cultivating oil-painting majors' ratiative thinking, inspiring their imagination, encouraging them to study more subjects, creating a favourable environment for developing creative thinking, encouraging students to probe boldly into the material, skills and styles of oil painting, etc., the author discusses the actual operation, ways, measures, and conditions for the cultivation of creative thinking in oil-painting teaching. Furthermore, he researches deeply into the practical methods for inspiring and cultivating creative thinking. Lastly, the author appeals to college teachers for strengthening their sense of responsibility, shouldering the duty of cultivating students' creative thinking and carefully studying and solving this problem.
