Study Of The Residential Urban Interface

The residential urban interface represents the interface between the urban and residential area, it is the first contact between the residents and the city itself. This interface not only carries the streets and the residential areas, it has also got both material and spiritual functions. A good urban interface reflects the links between external space and internal space, with organic connections between these functions. What's more, it helps to regulate the conflicts between urban space and residential areas.Seen from the perspective of getting to know residential urban interface and city life, this paper explored the evolution process of the residential urban interface, with some systematic research and analysis. It is based on these information and learning from the problems existed that this paper has got the characteristics and intrinsic nature of the residential urban interface. What's more, by observing and analyzing the research results concerning the vitality of city life on this interface, the author has come to the designing principles as well as some methods.Most importantly, this paper has constructed the theoretical system of residential urban interface design, and through the introduction of some practical examples, it has put forward some concrete solutions, which aim to strengthen the scientific application in environmental design within this space, thus guiding the practice of creation.
