Wind power industry continues to power grid dispatching automation new demands, including demands for higher data sharing. However, in SCADA system there is not a unique standard of communication among equipments at present. Furthermore, there are many kinds of communication protocols. All these circumstances not only make much manpower wasted in study Protocol conversion, but also bring much trouble for consumer to choose equipments etc. So standardization of communication protocol is a hot of study. In December 2006, the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) announced the IEC 61400-25 standard which was established by the IEC TC88 technical committee. It is the IEC 61850 standard in the field of wind power extension, specifically for the wind power system monitoring communications and aimed at the freedom of communication between different wind power equipment suppliers. So software or hardware that realizes protocol conversion should unify all the communication protocols to IEC 61400-25.Firstly, this paper introduced the wind plant and then presented the current situation, developing tendency, and the communication protocol's standardization of a SCADA system. And then thoroughly studies the remote communication protocol 1MW wind turbines and the IEC 60870-5-101, and specially introduces IEC 60870-5-104 which is contained in IEC 61400-25-4. On the basis of study, the author finishes the design and realization on the conversion method of the communication modules, such as 101 and 104,1 MW Statute Statute and 101 two-way conversion, man-machine interface and running a simulation of the communication protocol conversion and gives the results of 1MW→101. Finally, a set of advice projects are put forward in order to assure the security of the data transfer.In this paper, designed by the Statute of the conversion module to solve the wind farm SCADA system communication protocol between the device inconsistency problem. This module is mainly used in the Statute of the need for conversion or workstations by scheduling to achieve a number of wind farms or the exchange of information to a wind farm on the remote monitoring and data acquisition, it has extensive application value.
