| The sufficient exploitation of solar energy has been turned into the world energy strategic decision-making of continuable development because of the increase of energy sources crisis and environmental pollution. Now the research on photovoltaic system is focused the attention. Among the photovoltaic system, as the energy storage parts, battery pack is the key to ensure the whole system keep work the whole day and night.Now the life characteristics of battery pack is the"bottle-neck"technic among the extending of application of the photovoltaic system. The study of work performance, especially cycle life characteristics is becoming one of the most important tasks among the researches of the whole photovoltaic system.In this paper, the cycle lives of the two types of VRLA batteries were tested. The conclusions obtained from the study are as follows:1. VRLA battery has good electric performance that can satisfy the request of the photovoltaic system. The consistency of the performances, the charge efficiency, and the storage performance are all well enough.2. The two methods of micro-cycle test and the accelerated test were both used to study the cycle characteristic of lead-acid battery pack. The results show that there are many factors which can affect the cycle life of lead-acid battery pack, such as the intrinsic factors like active material components and the extrinsic factors like the depth of discharge (DOD) and overcharge capacity, and so on. |
