| A new spiral bevel gear machining method using variable modulus hob is proposed based on existed gear meshing theory. In this paper:First, current situation in machining spiral bevel gear were analyzed. Development of spiral bevel gear meshing theory, machining methods and features of bevel gear, meshing defection and its'solutions in machining methods were summarized.Second, basic principles of gear hobbing were mentioned. The principle of imaginary crown gear and gear engagement were applied to the gear hobbing. Working length of hob was calculated and Effect of surface precision was analyzed by the distribution changing of teeth of hob. Interference of bevel gear machining was revealed.Third, hobbing bevel gears'mathematical model was established. Meshing function, meshing equation, equation of contact line on surface of hob's tooth and surface of bevel gear's tooth were educed.Forth, 3D model of hobbing spiral bevel gears were modeled. The pair of gears was assembled. And the gears'kinematical meshing was simulated. It is found that the pair of gears is line contact. |
