This thesis depends on the scientific research item of Guangba highway tunnel surrounding rock research, the research area tunnel surrounding rock is the horizontal rock stratum, at present aimed at the horizontal rock stratum area tunnel surrounding rock the deformation failure mechanism and the investigation into stability aspect material were still few, therefore, studied its distortion destruction mechanism, proposed that a set suited this local the tunnel adjacent formation hierarchy plan, had the constructive significance to the tunnel construction work's safe hidden danger and the tunnel supports and protections measure's optimization.Based on the fruit of previous studies, this thesis used the scene geological survey data, monitoring data and the test results of the statistical and analytical basis .This thesis uses the method of combination between qualitative and quantitative classification. The deformation failure mechanism of tunnel surrounding in horizontally stratum area was analyzed in this thesis. The author introduced the highway tunnel surrounding rock classification method which adapt to this area and evaluates its stability comprehensively .The study included as follow:(1) This thesis introduced the engineering geology condition of the highway tunnel in this area and the highway tunnel of surrounding rock's basic deformation character. Contrast under the conditions in different geological characteristics of deformation and damage.(2) The rock strength is the important standards of researching the stability of surrounding rock. Through the massive rock scene physical strength of the statistical analysis of test results, quantitatively analysed the muddy silt, rock and shale of the sensitivity of water and wind resistance capabilities.(3) This paper through physical simulation and 2-Dblock discrete numerical simulation of the tunnel adjacent formation in horizontally stratum deformation and damage mechanisms, analysis the deformation and failure mode phasesly and combinate the geology and tunnel wall rock monitoring data and consider the two damage control factor on rock strength and thickness .And analysis this two factors make the effects on the deformation failure mechanism method of horizontal rock stratum tunnel surrounding rock through physical simulation and 3DEC discrete numerical simulation.(4) The highway tunnel only considered frequently the GB code BQ method, the research area tunnel surrounding rock BQ method and the actual surrounding rock rank deviation are big, according to the scene rock rank and the Q system, the RMR method surrounding rock result, considering the thickness of rock stratum and the sensitivity of rock to water that carries on the revision to the BQ method, enhances the BQ method in this local tunnel surrounding rock compatibility.(5) Through the tunnel monitoring data analysis and numerical simulation of the tunnel surrounding rock Stability. Confirm the deformation failure mechanism method of horizontal rock stratum tunnel surrounding rock and the measure of surrounding rock mass classification, evaluate the Stability of tunnel. According to the research, this paper proposed the Dongxingchang tunnel reinforcement measure.
