The fiber optic composite overhead ground wire(OPGW) is the compound that gather the function of fiber optic correspondence and transmission line lightning arresting, is an important developping direction of the electric power special fiber optic cable .Along with the construction of the power system's fiber optic correspondence network, OPGW beginning drive large-scale adoption .But because of past we understood shortage of influence which the lightning had broken to wire fracture of OPGW , as a result, OPGW in use fall short of lightning arresting ,and wire fracture accidents is more and more serious.The text first introduced domestic and international wire fracture example of fiber optic composite overhead ground, making sure lightning is the main reason that results wire fracture of OPGW in the spot through experiments, analyzing the mechanism that the OPGW broken by lightning in further .Analyzed to compare the function of everyone's noodles of each kind of stranded cable , Through the analysis and tests of lightning arresting of OPGW sample which provided from the spot and OPGW factory, the relationship between the OPGW material , whole OPGW diameter ,single silk diameter etc. was found out.End, put forward the optimal measure of applied OPGW of transmission line.
