With the innovation of RCC DAM, it shows a greater predominance thanother type of dams. It uses less concrete per unit ,generates less heat, andconstructs simply, so engineers pay much attention to it. As we all know,temperature load is an important part of RCC dam's loads. For high RCC dam'sthickness, it is very sensitive to temperature changes. Temperature distortionreceives a strong constrain from the base, the dam's temperature changes is ansignificant factor affecting the stress of dam. RCC dam is constrained by manyforces, its construction rule requires less Or no transverse joints, c6ntinuouslybuilt the dam by thick layer. Although the compacted concrete produce lowerheat, the thermal stress is still serious .From the middle of 1980, engineers athome and abroad have done much research on the question about RCC dam'sthermal stress and have studied a lot about the simulation analysis theories. Itleads to the great improvements of simulation analysis and developed softwares.But engineers are still dubious about the calculation results, with the comparedmature techniques of simulation analysis; It's a must to study the calculationresults in order to use the results efficiently. This paper calculates the RCCdam's thermal and stress field of guangxi xia qiao, fist using actualconstruction arrangement and actual temperature dada then using construction plan and estimated temperature data. Through the comparison and analysis onthe results, it finds the rule and relation among them.The paper does research below.1 Calculate the thermal and crack stress field of the dam using actualconstruction period and planned period according estimated temperature datawith the large and general software ansys.2 Compute the thermal and crack stress field of the dam using actualconstruction period and planned period according actual temperature data withthe large and general software ansys.3 Compare the results, summarize the rule about the thermal and crackstress field of the dam4 Analyse the results's main affecting factors and give advice on simulationanalysis's calculation (?)5 Aanlyse the relationship between the highest temperature of concret andconstruction arrangement during the process of constructin.
