Types Studying Of Plane-mode In Cites And Towns

With the prosperity of Chinese culture and deepening of"Opening to the outside" policy in China, the speed of Chinese cities' development has been beyond the prediction of cities programming. Cities, as the centre of national economy and the carrier of culture, are facing numerous difficulties and conflictions. Cities' development requires the development and improvement of cities' science objectively. Deep understanding of cities' history and current situation can help us control direction of cities' development in the future.Due to this reason, this document try to work over cities' plane-mode by the means of typology to find out cities' development in history and control the direction of development of cities in the future.The thesis uses CITIES' SPACE THEORY by the brothers KRIER for reference on choosing and handling cities' type. It defines the standard city type as following four: natural type city; grid type city; geometry type city and axes type city together with numerous city examples.Firstly, the paper explains the characteristics and relatively effecting factors while natural-type cities come into being, further indicating natural-type cities are not only the kind of the type which promote social harmoniousness, but also a kind of idea of ancient cities' layout.Secondly, through the study of some unnatural-type cities, the paper indicates their different forming characteristics and relatively effecting factors. Furthermore, the evolvement of plane-mode cities is investigated with cities' history in the paper, indicating their different evolving process and results. The author tries to get argumentation by studying plane-mode cities' evolvement together with history including different culture and fashions in different era and tries to find out the changing rules of plane-mode in cities and towns. Through the investigation of previous four types of cities, the author finds out the special angles of views to understand cities and their layout by using the method of typology. What's more, investigating development history of cities from different cities' types plays an important role in predicting the directions of future cities.Finally, through comprehensive comparation,the author thinks investigating the development of cities and towns by the idea of typology does some concentrations on the main points on some levels.
