Objective To establish a simple model of ECMO with polypropylene of hemodialysis machine and investigate the effect and possibility of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as a oxygen supplied method. Methods There were 4 groups in our research. ECMO models were divided into 3 groups on the method of oxygen supplied method: oxygen group, 0.15% H2O2 group and 0.06% H2O2 group. The original blood was the control group. Using fresh healthy chicken blood pass through ECMO , red blood cell count(RBC), hemoglobin(HGB), hematocrit (HCT), mean corpuscular volume (MCV) ,mean corpuscular hemoglobin(MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration(MCHC), hydrogen exponent (PH) , partial pressure of oxygen (PO2) , partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PCO2), O2 saturation (SO2), concentration of bicarbonate (HCO3-), total carbon dioxide content (CCO2) were measured before and after 3 min of ECMO and compared between groups. Results The ECMO model was set up successfully. PH of all 3 groups were significantly raised after ECMO than before ECMO (P=0. 000, P<0.001) . PCO2 was significantly decreased in 0.06% H2O2 group after ECMO than before ECMO (P=0. 000, P<0.001), the other two was also obviously decreased( P=0. 001,0.002, P<0.01) . RBC, HCT and HGB had no significant changes after ECMO in 0.15%...
