Automatic Clutch System is the improvement on the basis of the traditional dry friction clutch and manual gearbox.Through the automatic control system replaces the clutch pedal manual control. Because this system retains the traditional clutch pedal which is in parallel with the automatic clutch executive authority for the diver choosing manual or auto clutch control method.Therefore,on one side,using the manual clutch control method Can require the driver's driver enjoyment,on the other side,using the automatic clutch contr01 method Can reduce the drier's labor intensity, achieve the optimization of clutch's detachment and engagement.It can implement automatic transmission just as Automated Transmission can do,and it holds the merits of the conventional manual transmission that has high efficiency,low cost,simple structure and being made easily. it is very suitable for the drivers who want to drive for a sense of comfort-oriented driving, or frequently operate the clutch.this paper deals with mathematical model of clutch system. The aim of clutch control is to lessen the starting jerk and the friction work in clutch engaging process through analyzing this two evaluating indicators. Secondly , clutch engaging displacement and speed are taken as the controlled parameters and the engaging method of"fast—slow—fast"is concluded. These lie the foundation for the design of clutch control system.This paper discusses the design of hardware for clutch control system with 80C52 as ECU, This paper discusses the design of executive authority transmission scheme,part of hardware and programming of software for clutch control system.The hardware system consists of power circuit,rotation rate measuring circuit,gear position measuring circuit,LCD display,drive circuit,H-Bridge drive circuit,which act as the hardware platform of clutch control system incorporation with 80C52. The paper also develops CAN bus nodes interface circuit practical and efficient CAN bus communication protocol for the clutch and engine, ABS coordinated control needs. It can not only send and receive data accurately, but also simplifies the control data (speed, speed, throttle opening) of the acquisition process to facilitate the standardization of control and installation.In the software system design, it adopts modularization as the design principle.The whole system is divided into different functional modules for convenient development.Next, it represents some key problems in the software design as follows.Engine rotation speed,vehicle speed and throttle position signals are got through communication with engine ECU , ABS with CAN bus protocol; liquid crystal display process; The clutch control program for starting process and shifting gear is programmed based on the clutch control rule; The determination program of clutch engagement starting point makes the clutch control self-adapting.
