Research On Application Of Meteorological Information For Safety Navigation In Malacca Strait

On the east of Malacca Strait is South China Sea,On the west of that is the Andaman Sea. Connecting with the Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean, Malacca Strait is pivotal seaborne commerce transportation circuit of Asian and even the whole world,it is honored as "East's Gibraltar". According to relevant statistics,every year the transportation of goods through the Malacca Strait account for a third of global trade, while crude oil transport nearly one-half of the world. China is one of the major Asian economies,40 percent of foreign trade cargo transport through the Strait of Malacca each year. The economic globalization footsteps speed up, and the development of shipping industry changes day by day, Malacca Strait takes the international shipping main road's status to be getting more and more prominent. With the traffic density of the Malacca Strait growing, the safety of navigation in Malacca Strait is increasingly prominent.This article comprehensive analyse the hydrological and meteorological information of the Malacca Strait, select appropriate observation point in sailing directions and meteorological website,and conduct a statistical analysis of climate data for nearly 20 years,then based on this, summarizes the overall climate characteristic of Malacca strait.According to the expert questionnaire's survey result, combine with the Malacca Straits accident investigation, generalized analysis hydrometeorology have effect on Malacca Straits navigation security.It can be seen, the existence of narrow waterway navigation areas,large transport density, strong currents and poor visibility are likely to be the major factors that affect the safe navigation of the Malacca Strait.This article studied the meteorology website of coast various countries of Malacca Straits, analyzed various source of information,and applied suitable information to proposed the Malacca Straits's navigation security meteorological support flow and the measure.It provide efficient meteorological service for the drivers that navigation in the Malacca Strait, improve the sailing safety level, reduce the occurrence of security incidents due to meteorological factors, thereby enhancing economic efficiency.
