Research On The Preliminary Concept Design Of Deepwater Drillship

Deepwater drillship is one of most technological advanced ocean drilling unit world widely. Our domestic offshore engineering is badly restricted within narrow limits for the reason that we have not a single deepwater drillship designed and constructed by ourselves. So it is very important to design deepwater drillship, and it matters much to developing ocean petroleum resources of our country.The characteristics of deepwater drillship are brought forward on the basis of gathering and analyzing abundant information of deepwater drillship, and a proper design method and way is proposed aiming at the deepwater drillship's characters. Using the analysis result as the start point, the general concept design method of deepwater drillship is proposed consulting aboard design methods. The main concept of this paper is as follows:1) Based on the characteristics of deepwater drillship, discusses the method fit for deepwater drillship, and demonstrates every principle dimension's choose, including length between perpendiculars, breath, depth, block coefficient, draft etc.2) Special weight categories are been set up in the weight analysis period, which separately belongs to the lightship weight and deadweight, using the method of reforming the sister ship and the Waston & Gilfillan method for reference;3) In the lines stage, modeling and faring the lines with software considering of form coefficient's influence on ship performance;4) According to the functional character of drillship, general arrangement is made with cabin compartmentalized and equipments arranged; 5) Calculate the stability performance of deepwater drillship proposed using the author's method, and the calculating result proves that the results is acceptable and reliable.
