Al2O3 ceramic has many excellent properties such as high strength, high hardness, good oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., in national defense, aviation, aerospace and other fields can not replace the importance of. In the past ten years, both at home and abroad in the structure of ceramic technology has made considerable progress, but it is very difficult to meet their many varieties, small batch of market demand characteristics, seriously restricting the cultivation of the market, the formation and development. Laser processing in ceramics technology is a non-contact, remove the materials processing methods to avoid direct mechanical processing of the body caused by injury and on the processing of ceramic tool wear; the technology is a near-net size of the real processing technology, to maximize the reduction of sintered ceramic components machining capacity, which can significantly reduce manufacturing costs.In this paper, Review of the existing forming methods on the basis of the comparison process on its impact on material properties, select a new type of forming process - Gelcasting as the research object, and its principles at high solid content ceramic slurry by adding polymerizable organic monomer and crosslinker, initiator and at the role of catalyst, the trigger a monomer polymerization in situ molding to make ceramic slurry. Experimental study on the method used for processing hot-assisted laser cutting of alumina ceramics are analyzed and studied. And then further on the choice of processing parameters, the selection process to make recommendations path.Above theoretical analysis and experimental results prove that in this paper the results of research on engineering ceramics by laser machining practical guiding significance.
